Sembra il titolo di una fiaba, ed è invece la felice conseguenza del divieto d’uso dei neonicotinoidi, pesticidi particolarmente dannosi, che dal Settembre scorso protegge l’area. L’utilizzo di sostanze tossiche per l’agricoltura era e resta un problema in tutto il mondo, e la morìa di api ne è un sintomo forte; gli animaletti a strisce gialle e nere si sono infatti dimezzati tra il 2007 e il 2008.
Le conseguenze di questo “sterminio” non vanno sottovalutate: non è solo l’apicoltura come hobby a rischio, ma i settori produttivi che senza l’opera impollinatrice delle api non avrebbero modo di esistere; spiega Matteo Ansanelli, agronomo della Cia (Confederazione Italiana Agricoltori) , che se un melo è a una distanza massima di 300 metri da un alveare produce 26 chili di mele all'anno, quantità che si riduce a soli nove chili se è invece in un raggio di un chilometro e mezzo.
